Technological Training for Organizers

Launched in April 2018, our Movement Technology Fellowship (MTF) is a 9-month long program that trains organizers from our collaborative partner organizations to utilize and develop technological tools. We are expanding their capacity by cultivating the on-the-ground movement leaders who understand their communities, but want to learn how to leverage technology to increase their organization’s impact.

In partnership with the socially-oriented tech firm Devlabs, the program trains fellows in developing their technical capacity with a focus on:

  • web and admin fundamentals,
  • online organizing, and
  • a shared collaborative-wide ‘Partner Portal’.

Fellows work on immediate solutions to technical and technological problems within their organizations and identify long-term goals to enhance organizing. Additionally, fellows routinely meet with thought leaders in technology and social justice in informal talks and discussions.

The Movement Tech Fellowship prepares participants as technology leaders for their organizations, who can provide trainings, support, and develop new tools.
