Today, Oakland native daughter and Oakland Rising’s Executive Director, Esperanza Tervalon-Daumont, received the annual “Making Democracy Work” award from the League of Women Voters. Our work to increase authentic local democracy by building the civic participation of low-income, immigrant, and voters of color in our cicy has included census outreach, ranked choice voting education, and is currently focued on Oakland redistricting efforts.
We are honored to continue our work in Oakland communities and we hope you will join us and support our work as a volunteer during our May-June campaign, as a communty leader, or as a donor.
