Join us this Saturday for a town hall as we present our vision for how our government can serve us — the people. We and our partners (SEIU, California Teachers Association, California Federation of Teachers, ACCE, California Calls, PICO CA, Evolve, League of Woman Voters, PolicyLink, & others) have the solution for how California can have exceptional schools, health care for all, affordable homes, open libraries, clean parks, and thriving small businesses. Instead of cities declaring a state of fiscal emergency and cutting services left and right, we need to close the tax loopholes that big corporations and the very wealthy use to cheat our communities out of billions.
As a member in the Make It Fair Campaign, we are working to recover $9 billion for California by closing a commercial property tax loophole in Proposition 13 and making corporations pay their fair share in property taxes. With labor unions and community organizations, we are co-hosting a town hall to discuss the proposal and we want to hear from you!

Make It Fair would give us the means to invest in California — care for our seniors, build affordable housing, educate our children, train workers, tend our parks, and so much more.
This past spring our outreach team talked to 4,597 voters in East and West Oakland about corporate property tax reform and investing in our communities over the course of 2 weeks. The message of this campaign resulted in our highest percentage of supportive voters to date –– a resounding 96%! Corporations think their money can drown out our voices. We must make our movement so powerful that our voices are heard loud and clear. No more corporate hands outs!
Attend the town hall and learn how you can help build the pressure we need to close the commercial property tax loophole in Prop 13 and recover over $9 billion every year for essential services in California.
