Larisa is program director of leadership development and advocacy at Urban Habitat where she oversees the leadership development activities of the organization, ensuring alignment with its policy priorities. She is a passionate advocate with a great sense of humor and love for justice. Working with and for communities of color and low-income communities energizes and inspires her. She is an advisory board member for PODER, a San Francisco-based economic and environmental justice organization. She serves on Oakland’s Budget Advisory Commission and is a former member of Oakland’s Citizens’ Police Review Board (CPRB) and San Francisco’s Immigrant Rights Commission.
