We launched our Monday Meals series! We’re excited to have you join us every Monday in March at 12pm for Monday Meals, a weekly discussion with partner and ally organizations to learn more about issues that impact our communities most. This month we are focussed on items coming up at the Oakland Unified School District (OUSD) School Board. Get your fill of hearty conversation with community and education experts as they discuss issues impacting our students and families. What does Black Reparations mean for Black students, the school district, and all our families? Join us this Monday, March 22nd at 12pm for a conversation with Kamapala Taiz-Rancifer from Demand Justice for Oakland Students and learn more about what reparations can look like so that our Black students receive the resources and counseling they need to set them up to succeed. Up for vote at the next OUSD board meeting on Wednesday, March 24th, learn how you can take action. Monday Meals are live on our Instagram and Facebook Page – you must be a follower to see Oakland Rising’s “stories” and receive a notification that we are going live.
