Special Guest Performer - Kev Choice

With our Oakland Progressives Party just 18 days away, we are thrilled to announce some awesome news!

It’s been a big year for Oakland’s progressive community, so to celebrate the work of amazing local organizations, leaders and activists in style, we’re bringing renowned hip-hop artist Kev Choice to perform at this year’s event.

A native of Oakland and graduate of Skyline High School, Kev Choice reflects the spirit of the Oakland Progressives Party with his soul-stirring musical talent and heartfelt dedication to the Town. Kev Choice has written and produced 3 studio albums: "The Power Of Choice"(2011), "Oakland Riviera"(2014), and "Love And Revolution"(2015). SF Weekly named Oakland Riviera one of the top Hip-Hop albums of 2014 and Oakland Rising staff believes this album is a love letter to the Town. Besides being able to rock the piano and the mic like a true master, Kev Choice is also a progressive and politically passionate person. He worked tirelessly for the Oakland United Democratic Campaign (OUDC) as Volunteer Coordinator around the 2014 election and has leveraged his talent to garner support for political superstars like Barack Obama, Kamala Harris and Congresswoman Barbara Lee.  He teaches music to high school students in East and West Oakland, is the proud father of his up and coming basketball star daughter, and he’s also a big fan of Oakland Rising!

This is shaping up to be the biggest and best Oakland Progressives Party & Townie Awards celebration we’ve ever had. And we can’t do it without you.

We want to make sure that Oakland’s progressive activists, leaders and allies are in the house! Please purchase a ticket today and join us on Thursday, June 18th at the Kaiser Rooftop Garden (300 Lakeside Drive) from 5:30- 8:30pm as we celebrate and honor the progressive promise of Oakland.

Appetizers and wine will be flowing and your ticket gets you a front row seat to a very special performance by Kev Choice!

We look forward to seeing you there!
